IFGRA Founding Members
 
A number of representatives of various regions of the world, who for the main part attended SESEC symposiums, have decided to create IFGRA, the International Federation of Green Regions.
 

The creation of IFGRA wast announced on June 25th, 2007 at the Town Hall of Lausanne by Mr. Daniel Brelaz, Mayor of Lausanne, who also presided the IFGRA Creation Ceremony that officially took place on October 31st, 2007, during SESEC VI symposium, at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne (www.sesec.org).

 
Any legal entity may join the Federation, in conformity with the Statutes (pdf).

Eligibility Principles
         
  As stipulated in the Federation's Statutes, the Members of IFGRA can be:  
     
  A States, government agencies, regional communities and other public law bodies (cities, local and regional communities, irrespective of country);  
       
  B National and international non-governmental organisations;  
       
  C Private companies and other private law legal entities.  
       
  D As the initiator, the city of Lausanne hosts the headquarters of the Federation.  
       
  The members of IFGRA shall be active - or intend to become active - in the main sustainable development sectors, i.e. measures ensuring clean air, clean water, clean soils, the recovery of solid waste and the recourse to renewable resources - materials and / or energies.  
     
  In fact, any local territorial or regional community may be eligible for membership, whatever their current situation (in other words whatever the pollution level of their territory), provided that they can demonstrate an absolute will to improve.
